"The 8th Student BIM & VR Design Contest on Cloud Services Virtual Design World Cup" is held this year. This international competition requires students to design advanced architecture, bridge, city, and landscape by using BIM/CIM and VR. With a theme announced every year, students compete their design, idea progressiveness, and idea sense. In this topic, we will show you the overview and characteristics of this year's target site, Yumeshima in Osaka City and its VR data.

■Osaka Bay Area
Yumeshima, the target area of this year's competition, is an artificial island in Osaka Bay. Yumeshima is located to the south of Maishima and to the north of Sakishima, at the middle of the 3 artificial islands consisting of part of Osaka Port. The island is also located at the most west side of Osaka City.

In Maishima, there are a garbage incineration plant and a sewage disposal plant that were designed by an architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. These colorful and unique appearance attracts many visitors. In addition to these buildings, Maishima has sports facility and large logistics facility. In Sakishima, which is also called Osaka Nanko, there are International Exhibition Center (Intex Osaka) that is the venue of the G20 Osaka Summit 2019, Osaka Prefectural Government Sakishima Building (Cosmo Tower), and many large shopping complexes, hotels, education facilities, and large apartments. This area composes the core of Osaka bay area together with Tempozan area and Universal City area where Universal Studios Japan (USJ) is located.

■Current situation of Yumeshima Most part of the current Yumeshima is empty excepting container terminals and mega solar systems. Almost all areas are limited to enter excepting related persons. This site may be the very first subject with no buildings or structures in the VDWC history. That means participants can reflect their ideas freely. To access Yumeshima, we can use Yumemai Bridge connecting Yumeshima and Maishima and Yumesaki Tunnel connecting Yumeshima and Sakishima. Since no pedestrians and bicycles are allowed to go through the tunnel, only automobiles and busses can enter the Yumeshima through the tunnel. A new subway station will be open before the expo begins.

■Overview
This is an international design competition for students to compete amongst each other in designing an innovative architecture, bridge and city design using BIM/CIM &VR technologies. We encourage students from different departments majoring in different field of studies to make a team to work on their model together to demonstrate that BIM/CIM can be used in various discipline.

■Qualification for applicant
All the team members involved should be either students or working students. There must be at least 3 members in your team to apply. Please make sure you outline the work contributed by each member of your team.

■Judging standard
The use of UC-win/Road is mandatory for the creation of the work. In addition, contestants must use at least one more FORUM8 software/solution to create their project, which must have the element of the BIM/CIM and VR and the capability to be used within these disciplines.
