Introduction

FORUM8 Virtual Platform System (Metavania F8VPS) is a system that uses WebGL technology to virtually recreate any metaverse, such as an exhibition hall, office, or factory, enabling information sharing and user communication. Here we will introduce the enhanced features of F8VPS Ver.5.

Expanded Conversation Function

Depending on your purpose and usage, you can build a metaverse in 3 main patterns: "viewer", "open", and "closed". The conversation function in the 'open' metaverse, which was requested by many users, has been implemented in Ver.5. In addition, for a more comfortable communication experience, we will also implement a function that allows you to block contact from specific users as needed. This setting will only apply to you and will not affect the experience of other users.

• Viewer:Metaverse for sightseeing and virtual tour. A metaverse for tourists and visitors. It is designed to provide an immersive, personalized experience in a space where no other users exist. You can freely explore the space and use scripting to experience attractions and view explanations of exhibits.

• Open:Anyone can join the open metaverse. It is applicable for events and public relations activities since it can be accessed without logging in. In Ver.5, communication functions have been enhanced, allowing communication via voice calls, video conferencing, and group chat in addition to the existing communication by avatar animation. This allows you to set up communication spaces for different purposes, such as "conference rooms" within the metaverse space. In this setting, you enter a display name to be used within the space instead of a login name.

• Closed:This is a limited metaverse that requires login with a specific account. It is ideal for private events or experiences for those involved only. All communication tools, including voice calls, video conferencing, and chat functions, can be used, allowing for communication in a safe and secure environment.

• Editing tool authentication
Until Ver.4, the editing tool can be used by logging in with the Basic authentication. In Ver.5, you can log in it with the same user account as in the metaverse. If you have already logged in the metaverse, you can access the editing tool without any additional authentication.

• Replacing asset files:The asset library in the editing tool allows you to save and manage 3D models in .glb format and cube textures for skyboxes. With Ver.5, these asset files can be replaced, allowing you to reuse and update them for each space without any troubles.

• Enhanced linkage with Shade3D:The cooperation with our 3D software Shade3D is also enhanced. It is possible to save and update models created with Shade3D to the editing tool directly from Shade3D, which had to be manually uploaded to Metavania F8VPS. This will greatly improve the efficiency of space creation.

Future Development and Prospect

We will continue development with a focus on improving the user experience. In particular, the expanded editing tool features and the improved operability will help users to create and edit spaces more easily. Also, as part of UX improvements, we plan to add a feature to the "Open" metaverse that allows users to set their avatar's appearance in addition to entering their display name when joining the metaverse. This will make the entire process from joining to communicating smoother and more intuitive.
