Change Object Size Using the Bounding Box |
Shade3D has a variety of methods for transforming objects. To change the shape of a single object or multiple objects by using values, enter the size in each axis in "Size" item of the bounding box.
● Change the value in the Y axis of "Size" from 1000 to 500.
● Transformation using bounding box while keeping proportion
When the "Keep Proportion" box is checked, if you change any of the values in the boxes, the other values will also be changed automatically.
Four Arithmetic Operations in the Text Box |
In the main setting windows such as the tool box, texture material window, etc. it is possible to enter four arithmetic operations in the text box and use the calculation results as value.
● Enter 100*50/2
● 2500 is displayed as the calculation result.
Change Size by Specifying the Base Point |
By using the size manipulator, users can modify the size of 3 edges of the selected object while specifying the base point for the size change. To change the object size using this function, select one of the base point displayed with a red square icon and input values in the X, Y and Z axis.
● Size manipulator displaying the length of 3 edges and base point
● Select the base point (at the left edge) and change the size
"Alignment" window allows users to align multiple shapes by selecting the base drawing and the alignment method.
● Alignment window
● Align the selected shapes to the center
● Align the left edge of the shapes to the base shape (red)
To transform shapes using the joints, create the hierarchy structure using bones as the inner skeleton of the shape and set the skin on the top.
● Object shape (upper left), bone structure (upper right), shape after transformation (lower left), bone structure after transformation (lower right)
To transform the whole associated shape indirectly, create a cage as the external skeleton by any shape and transform it.
● Object shape (upper left), cage (upper right), shape after transformation (lower left), cage after transformation (lower right)
The STL format and OBJ format, which are the popular formats for 3D printing, are supported in Shade3D. STL files include only shape data and OBJ files include data of shape and color.
● Original shape (upper left), integrated wire frame (upper right), STL file (lower left), OBJ file (lower right)
To create shapes for 3D printing, use "wrapping mesh" and integrate the external data which is in a segmented state.
● External shape (left), integrated shape (right)
