-The 2nd Design Conference/ UC-win/UC-1 User Conference

We will hold "The 2nd FORUM8 Design Conference" to announce
and release our new products and versions. This design conference
is larger in scale as compared to the "UC-win/FRAME(3D) Conference".
The first "UC-win/FRAME(3D) Conference" was held in October 2003
with the intent of introducing "UC-win/FRAME(3D)". The first version
of UC-win/FRAME(3D) was released in 2002. Last year, we changed
the name of this event to "Design Conference". It is now one of
our most important events and it covers a wide range of products
from our UC-win/UC-1 series.

We will hold "The 2nd FORUM8 Design Conference" to announce and release our new products and versions. This design conference is larger in scale as compared to the "UC-win/FRAME(3D) Conference" . The first "UC-win/FRAME(3D) Conference" was held in October 2003 with the intent of introducing "UC-win/FRAME(3D)". The first version of UC-win/FRAME(3D) was released in 2002. Last year, we changed the name of this event to "Design Conference". It is now one of our most important events and it covers a wide range of products from our UC-win/UC-1 series.

It will be held at Tokyo Conference Centre Shinagawa, similar to last year. Main stream "civil engineering session" as well as three technical sessions, "architecture", "design CAD", and "hydraulic engineering" will be conducted. New products and new versions will also be introduced during the conference. In addition, special lectures and speeches will be presented by some university researchers and our users.

We plan to release Engineer's Studio (TM) this year. This time we are honored to have Professor Koichi Maekawa at concrete laboratory of University of Tokyo, the developer of the well-known "Maekawa concrete model" to give a speech about the latest concrete-related topics.

For the afternoon session - Geotechnical Analysis, we will have Prof. Keizo Ugai from Gunma University, Dept. of Civil Engineering, to give a speech about disasters occurring in intermediate and mountainous areas caused by recent inner earthquakes related to FEM analysis applications and the current issues. With regards to Environment and Energy, we will have Prof. Nobuyoshi Yabuki from Osaka University, Division of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering as a speaker. He is well known in the field of informatization of civil engineering and will be talking about pressing issues of informatization of civil engineering. We will introduce Engineer's Studio (TM), easy slab bridge and rigid frame pier design during the sessions. Other applications in architecture, structural analysis, multiframe, quantity survey for housing, VR (UC-win/Road for VST5), evacuation analysis (EXODUS), BIM in architecture and LogicalImage will be introduced. Advance steel produced by Graitec in France will be localized and the Japanese version will also be introduced. For the Design CAD session, we have some users of UC-win/FRAME(3D) to give a speech. Assistant Prof. Setsuji Kitagawa at Hannan University, Dept. of Management and Information will give a speech about theory of LogicalImage equipped with UC-Draw and electronic delivery tool. During the Hydraulic Engineering Session, we will organize The 2nd Technology seminar of prevention of water immersion and invite some users of xpswmm.

This conference promises to be informative and useful to individuals engaged in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction & Traffic-related Industries and the networking party that is organized serves as an ideal platform for the global exchange of ideas.

-Updated UC-win/Road Database

To increase the convenience in UC-win/Road utilization, we have continued to
expand our UC-win/Road database to make it easy for our valued users to
download 3D models and textures.

To improve our international database, we have added international
traffic signs from all over the world in "Texture and Traffic signs".
The database now consists of models from 23 countries.
In particular, more building models used in the United States
and public facilities used in Japan are added in "3D model - Building,
house, store, and steel tower".
Various types of signals and ETC (electronic toll collection system)
in movable models are also available in "3D model - train and road
facilities" . People who are chatting and riding on a bike in MD3 models
are added in "3D model - Character".
Play equipment are added in "3D model - park institution".
In addition, we are seeking more models from all over the world as
described below. Received models are currently in the updating process.
"Texture - Tree", and more models and textures will be updated and
released as well.

-UC-win/Road for EXODUS

EXODUS is evacuation analysis simulation software developed
by Fire Safety Engineering Group (FSEF), English Greenwich
University. It is designed to meet the checking performance
on the basis of safety criteria, and allows you to analyze
the human behavior of large number of people in a complex
building as well as the interaction such as "human vs. human",
"human vs. structure", and "human vs. fire".
UC-win/Road Ver.3.03.08 offers EXODUS plug-in option.
It displays simulated results of EXODUS.

For more information about UC-win/Road for EXODUS,
please go to the following site.

-UC-win/Road SDK

UC-win/Road SDK allows you the flexibility to develop and customize
options similar to that of a basic UC-win/Road plug-in.
In addition, the reading and writing of UC-win/Road date and
customizing user interface are available in real time.

Additional features are
-Start command of drive simulation
-Driver interface
-Driving control command
-Driving condition (RPM, speed)
-3D model creation function
-Unicode compatible
